American McGee is an American designer who began his career at id Software, then moved into creative leadership on projects for Electronic Arts and other publishers. He founded the Shanghai studio Spicy Horse in 2006, later shifted his attention to the Plushie Dreadfuls business, and announced a return to game development in 2026.
