Chris Avellone is an American writer and designer who joined Interplay in 1995 and worked within its Black Isle Studios division. After leaving Interplay, he co-founded Obsidian Entertainment in 2003 and served as chief creative officer; since departing Obsidian in 2015, he has worked independently with studios across the role-playing genre.
